The outcome reflects the project’s design-led approach to environmental management. Over multiple design iterations, the project’s disturbance footprint was refined to avoid and minimise potential impacts to environmentally sensitive areas, with the proposed layout prioritising previously cleared and disturbed land.

As a result, almost all proposed disturbance is contained within previously cleared or non-remnant vegetation. Of the project's total disturbance footprint, 99.99 per cent is located within ground-truthed non-remnant vegetation, with only 0.20 hectares affecting remnant or regrowth vegetation associated with road alignments.

This approach has helped shape a project design that seeks to balance renewable energy generation with responsible land stewardship and consideration of the surrounding environment.

The completion of the EPBC Act assessment means Bungaban Solar has now secured its primary Local Government and Commonwealth approvals, allowing the project to progress through the final stages of project development.
