Bungaban is a 1.4GW wind energy project that can be responsibly developed, grid connected via the existing infrastructure and producing sustainable, cost competitive energy for homes and industry within the next five years.
Bungaban has the capacity to provide clean energy to one in three Queensland households, displacing about 4 million tonnes of carbon from the state’s energy generation profile every year.
The project will coexist with the region’s agricultural industry, delivering important benefits to the region and play a key role in support Queensland’s critical decarbonisation objectives.
During construction the project will create up to 600 new Queensland jobs and inject around $500 million into the regional economy though local employment, supply and contracting. Once operational, Bungaban will occupy less than 1.2 per cent of the combined area of its host properties.
