Bungaban Solar

Supporting reliable renewable energy across more hours

Bungaban Solar is a proposed 400 MW solar and battery hybrid project located alongside Bungaban Wind. Together, the projects will make the most of the region’s outstanding renewable energy resources and help deliver reliable, low-cost clean energy.

While the projects are located in the same area, Bungaban Solar is a separate development, with its own planning approvals, grid connection arrangements, and financing. Its location alongside Bungaban Wind creates opportunities to share infrastructure and maximise the benefits of the region’s renewable energy potential.

By combining solar generation with battery storage, Bungaban Solar is designed to provide renewable electricity across more hours of the day. Together, the complementary wind, solar, and battery technologies will support a more reliable and resilient electricity system.

The project is expected to create up to 450 construction jobs and opportunities for local contractors, suppliers, and service providers. Bungaban Solar will be designed to operate alongside existing agricultural activities, with regional biosecurity improvements supported through a comprehensive Biosecurity Management Plan. A dedicated community benefit arrangement will also be developed with Western Downs Regional Council in consultation with the local community.
